HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford Hospital unveiled its brand-new Take The Time 3D mammography van Tuesday, providing easier mammograms to women in the area.
The van is a mobile unit designed to bring advanced breast cancer screening directly to women across the state, including those without insurance.
A board-certified Hartford Hospital radiologist reads each mammogram, which only takes about 15 minutes.
Breast cancer is the second-most common cancer among women in the United States, and early detection is one of the key steps in saving lives.
