BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Movies 8 in Boardman is closing at the end of the year.

The discount movie theater announced on its Facebook page Tuesday that its last day of operations will be Dec. 31.

The theater has been open for 11 years.

"We have had so much fun being your discount theater option, and we know that it was an important place for people because life is expensive, and we try our best to keep things inexpensive and affordable," said Paige DeCiancio in a video on the theater's Facebook.

DeCiancio said the closure is due to a lack of funds to keep the theater open.
