During today's NFL trade deadline, a few big moves were made, while some other mediocre teams decided to stand firm and be content with the locker room they currently have, raising questions and criticism.
Folks thought that the Atlanta Falcons would be sellers during the deadline in an attempt to regain some draft capital in the way of stockpiling picks for the 2026 NFL Draft, in which they do not own a first-round pick. Atlanta is between a rock and a hard place with Kirk Cousins. No team was willing to take on his salary, especially after his dismal performance against the Miami Dolphins, which did not help matters any. Kyle Pitts was rumored to move, Leonard Floyd, Arnold Ebiketie, among a few others, but Atlanta stayed silent at the deadline, only signing Zane Gonzalez after waiving Parker Romo, who missed an extra point against the New England Patriots on Sunday.
The New York Jets were the talk of the town, leaving fans even angrier than they already were with how the season has transpired. The Jets would trade Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts and trade DL Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaking of the Dallas Cowboys, they're attempting to shore up the defense by signing Cincinnati Bengals LB Logan Wilson as well. The Seattle Seahawks signed WR Rashid Shaheed from the New Orleans Saints in an attempt to get another downfield target for QB Sam Darnold, and the Seahawks look poised to make a run all the way to the NFC Championship.
The Indianapolis Colts also made a massive splash by signing the aforementioned Sauce Gardner. After a fairly active deadline, names such as Trey Hendrickson, Myles Garrett, and Maxx Crosby all stayed put for the time being.
