SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - A man was sentenced to just over 20 years in prison on Tuesday, after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including the attempted murder of his wife, as well as killing her dog.

54-year-old Mark Fox was sentenced to 20 years and one month after pleading guilty to the following charges:

Second-degree attempted murder

First-degree aggravated assault

First-degree aggravated animal abuse

Strangulation (three counts)

Unlawful use of a weapon

Resisting arrest

The case stems back to Oct. 9, 2023, when Fox’s wife messaged a friend about his drunken, escalated behavior towards her. The friend reported the incident to police.
