NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — With multiple municipal elections running across the state Tuesday, voters turned out to cast their ballot at a steady pace.
Some elections are expected to come down to the wire when it comes to flipping seats. In New Britain, current Mayor Erin Stewart (R) is stepping down and has since endorsed Republican candidate Sharon Beloin-Saavedra. Running against her is current state Representative Bobby Sanchez, a Democrat.
A four-way race is taking place in Hamden, with many voters casting ballots based on candidate's solutions for the town's recent spike in property taxes.
