BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- The city of Bloomington Township has introduced the Emergency Food Benefit Program in order to help residents impacted by the pause of SNAP benefits.

Starting Tuesday, Nov. 4, qualifying households may receive temporary assistance to help purchase food.

The program is designed to help those facing financial hardship.

To qualify, residents must live in Bloomington Township, be eligible for SNAP benefits, and have a household below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Applications are available to fill out in person at the Township Office located on South Gridley Street. Residents can also call 309-434-2730 or email Townshipoffice@cityblm.org.
