As Election Day rolled in, incumbent Northampton Mayor Gina-Louise Sciarra was a heavy favorite to hold onto her position despite a challenge from Jillian Duclos.
Sciarra received 2,991 votes in the city’s preliminary election on Sept. 16 to Duclos’s 1,510.
That contest saw the elimination of other mayoral hopefuls Daniel Breindel and David Dombrowski, neither of whom were able to catch the two frontrunners.
The field also narrowed in September for at-large city councilors. Incumbent Garrick Perry, along with challengers Margaret Robbins, Benjamin Spencer, and Deborah Henson earned spots on the Nov. 4 ballot.
