The National Weather Service issued a high wind watch at 6:33 p.m. on Tuesday valid from Wednesday 4 p.m. until Thursday 10 a.m. for Herkimer, Fulton, Montgomery, Saratoga, Schoharie, Schenectady, Albany, Rensselaer, Greene, Columbia, Ulster, Dutchess and Washington counties.
The weather service comments, "West winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 60 to 65 mph possible."
"Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," comments the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates."
