The next steps to safeguard the future of Newcastle’s precious coastline have been given the “thumbs up” by the NSW Government.

It follows the recent certification of the Extended Stockton Coastal Management Program (CMP) by the Minister for the Environment, which sets the strategic direction on how the local seaboard will be managed moving forward.

This milestone marks the transition from planning to implementation, a phase that should deliver critical upgrades designed to safeguard the area against ongoing erosion.
