FRANKFORT, Ky. — Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky., has directed flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff in honor of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who died Nov. 3 at 84.

Cheney served as the 46th vice president alongside George W. Bush for two terms between 2001 and 2009. His family said he died from complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease.

Flags shall remain at half-staff until sunset on the day of Cheney's interment, which has yet to be announced, Beshear's office said. The governor had also directed flags be lowered to half-staff on Monday after former Gov. Martha Layne Collins' Nov. 1 death .
