What to Know

Voters in cities and towns across Connecticut headed to the polls beginning at 6 a.m.

They voted for mayor, boards of selectmen, boards of education, city or town councils, and some municipalities are holding referenda to decide on certain questions posed to voters.

Polls closed at 8 p.m.

Thousands headed to the polls around the state today for municipal elections in their cities and towns.

In Hamden and New Britain, voters will be electing new mayors. Current Hamden Mayor Lauren Garrett is not seeking reelection. Neither is New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart, who has served 12 years in that position. She is exploring a run for governor next year.
