EAST LANSING — The Michigan State women's basketball team opened its 2025-26 season by making history.
The Spartans had the best scoring game in program history while beginning their third season under the direction of coach Robyn Fralick by rolling to a a 125-39 victory over Mercyhurst on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Breslin Center.
The 125 points exceeded the previous program record of 116 points set in a 116-50 victory over Niagara on Nov. 14, 2008.
The Spartans, who are ranked No. 23 in the preseason Associated Press poll and are receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches poll, had seven players score in double figures, shot 62% from the field and had 24 steals while forcing 36 turnovers in the best scoring game in program history.
