Voters across the region took to the polls to vote on seven different millage requests from local school districts, including bond proposals, operating millages and sinking fund renewals.

Charlotte, Olivet voters approve operating millages

Charlotte was one of two districts with an operating millage request on Tuesday's ballot.

Operating millages help with costs necessary to keep the lights on and staff paid. Typically, operating millages do not impact primary residence. The tax is only assessed on properties like businesses, commercial enterprises, some agricultural holdings, rental properties and vacation homes.
