The 56-year-old man who pulled out a knife at Sundance Lounge in late April has been sentenced to prison.

On July 1, George Pineda pleaded guilty to aggravated assault. As part of a plea deal, the state recommended a prison sentence of nine to 10 years, and in exchange, it would not seek a habitual offender enhancement against Pineda.

On Oct. 6, District Judge Stuart S. Healy III sentenced Pineda to five to 10 years in prison, with credit for 160 days served in jail.

On April 30, staff at the Sundance Lounge reported that a man, later identified as Pineda, had pulled a knife on a 38-year-old man after an argument in the bar.
