Michigan football finds itself inside the College Football Playoff rankings, but still has a ways to go if it is going to make the postseason tournament and not just a bowl game.

The Wolverines were ranked No. 21 in the College Football Playoff committee's initial rankings, which were released Tuesday, Nov. 4.

It's a notable improvement from 2024, when U-M was never ranked by the committee, but not yet where it wants to be.
