County Council votes to ask state for ability to tax data centers

The Frederick County Council voted on Tuesday evening to finalize a package of state legislative requests that includes a proposed bill to allow the county to tax data centers.

The council declined to vote on including a state legislative package from County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, which contains a position statement opposing the 287(g) immigration enforcement program.
