Indiana was one of 2024’s biggest surprises, earning a spot in the college football playoff.

Now the Hoosiers are making a strong run at an appearance in this season’s national championship game.

Curt Cignetti’s team is 9-0. Indiana thrashed Illinois at home (63-10) and won at Iowa (20-15) and at Oregon (30-20).

The No. 2 Hoosiers visit Penn State (3-5, 0-5) on Saturday. Cignetti offered some thoughts on the Nittany Lions on Monday.

IU’s leader preferred to focus on Penn State’s national ranking earlier in the season, and not the PSU team that has lost five consecutive games.

“Same guys they started the year with for the most part that was ranked No. 1 to No. 3 in the country, so a lot of good football players at all positions, playing really hard here,” Cignetti said.
