WATERLOO, Iowa — Voters in Black Hawk County are heading to the polls today to decide several key races, including the mayoral race in Waterloo.

Incumbent Mayor Quentin Hart is seeking his sixth consecutive term after first being elected in 2015. He faces challenges from current City Councilman Dave Boesen and business leader Matt Gardner.

Waterloo voters will also decide on four city council races. One of these, the Ward 5 council seat, is uncontested with Hector Salamanca as the sole candidate. The race for council member at-large features candidates Kelly Martin and Micky McCracken.

In Cedar Falls, there is less on the ballot. Incumbent Mayor Danny Laudick is running unopposed for a second term, having first been elected in 2023. The city council has one contested seat, the Ward 3 se
