Ira Township — Police Protection Millage Renewal and Increase
Ira Township voters defeated a six-year, 3.0-mill proposal to fund police protection under a contract with Clay Township, by a margin of 346 votes (39.72%) yes to 525 votes (60.28%) no.
The measure would have renewed the township’s existing 1.5 mills and add an additional 1.5 mills, expected to raise about $942,861 in 2025. The revenue would have continued to support police patrols, equipment and related public-safety costs within the township.
All results remain unofficial until certified.
