Broomfield’s City Council race appeared to be led by incumbent candidates as well as Julie Twiss in Ward 1, Sarah Braun in Ward 3 and Sean McKenzie in Ward 4 as of early results Tuesday night.
In Broomfield’s Ward 1 race, Twiss is leading as of Tuesday night at 7:40 p.m. with 60.3% of the vote. Her opponent, Liz Law-Evans, has 39.7% of the vote.
Twiss is a librarian, and has experience as the chair of the Broomfield Library Board and on the Adams 12 Long Range Planning Advisory Committee.
In Ward 2, incumbent candidate Austin Ward was leading the race with 66.6% of the votes Tuesday night. His opponent Colin Dielmann had 33.4% of the vote.
Ward has been on the council since 2021, where he’s focused on issues like sustainability and affordable housing.
Braun was leading the Ward 3 race
