SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — The only team standing in the way of a perfect regular season for the No. 6 Ozona Lions is the Christoval Cougars.
The Lions will host the Cougars in the District 3-2A Division I finale at 7 p.m. Friday at Lions Stadium.
Senior Night for Ozona will be extra special this week, as senior running back Christian Villarreal is 777 yards away from breaking the single-season rushing mark in Texas history for all classifications.
Ozona is 9-0 overall and 4-0 in district, and Christoval is 4-5 and 2-2.
Lions head coach Jason Pitts acknowledges that the Cougars are a dangerous team that can't be taken lightly. In order to make the playoffs, Christoval needs to beat Ozona, or have Forsan knock off Reagan County.
