A far northwest suburban farm that holds claim to the "world's largest corn maze" has become known for its maze creations over the years, but those designs aren't the only ones capturing attention.
In preparation for its tulip season, Richardson Farm in Spring Grove orchestrated a delightful masterpiece: a butterfly carved out in a giant field. The farm's owners posted an image of the impressive design on Facebook, explaining it consists of a whopping 450,000 bulbs that were planted in recent days.
While planting the bulbs undoubtedly took a lot of time, it was just a fraction of the work.
According to the farm, three full days were spent preparing the ground and laying out the design before they even got to start planting.
