With the sun setting earlier, a Brevard County hospital is urging runners, walkers and bikers to stay safe.

Brevard County ranks 11th in the nation among the most dangerous areas for pedestrians, according to a report by Smart Growth America.

The latest data for Brevard County crashes showed that in 2023, there were 14,806 crashes in the area. There were 426 serious injury crashes, and 105 of those were deadly. Pedestrians accounted for 24 of those deaths, according to the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization.
