ROCKPORT, Ind. (WEHT) -- Eight bands have advanced to the state competition this weekend in Indianapolis.

Eyewitness News will be visiting several schools this week as they make their final preparations. Tonight we stopped by South Spencer High School.

The band has advanced in class D. The band held an open practice Tuesday evening, inviting the community to see what they've been working on ahead of state.

Band members say they're grateful for all the support they've received. South Spencer will compete at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.
