WPIAL Champions Fox Chapel head coach Erik Ingram said that conditioning played a ‘huge’ part in his team's preparations as goals from David Zakrocki in the first half and Rocco Poli in the second gave the team a comfortable enough cushion to fight off a late comeback and secure its place in the next round with a 2-1 victory over Central York.
The Foxes were pushed all the way by Seneca Valley in the final last week, but Ingram was pleased with how the team responded to get themselves ready for the next round.
“Conditioning was huge. The OT game didn’t help things, but we were still able to win the physical battles tonight.” he said.
While he might have been happy with how things were physically, mentally, the team is still lacking in his eyes and will need to get better for their match
