Jaxon Weber had a goal and an assist as Schalick rode a pair of second-half goals to a 2-0 win over New Egypt in their NJSIAA South Jersey Group 1 playoff in Pittsgrove.

The third-seeded Cougars will host a quarterfinal Friday against seventh-seeded Penns Grove, which defeated Gateway in its opener.

Weber assisted on Nolan O’Toole’s goal to put his team ahead in the second half. He converted Tyler Vanlier’s assist later on to double the Cougars advantage.

Evan Sepers needed just two saves to earn his eighth shutout of the season for Schalick.

New Egypt, the 15th seed in the tournament, fell to 7-14 with its third straight loss.
