SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- A storm wielding strong southernly wind gusts is forecast to blow into the San Francisco Bay Area late Tuesday night and continue through Wednesday afternoon.
The brunt of the early season storm will hit during Wednesday morning's rush-hour commute.
"Strong winds will begin to impact the region starting around 10 p.m. tonight to 4 p.m. Wednesday. Higher magnitude gusts are more likely along coastal areas and ridgetops," the National Weather Service Bay Area wrote.
KRON4 Meteorologist Lawrence Karnow said, "It is going to be extremely windy across the Golden Gate Bridge in that early morning commute. Maybe some 40 ... 60 mile-per-hour gusts right across the bridge."
The NWS said wind gusts could hit 65 mph along the North Bay coast.
