BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) - Bossier Parish Schools are helping military families affected by the government shutdown.
The community gathered to prepare donations for the Airman’s Attic, a volunteer-run food pantry, that provides donated goods to military members and families connected to Barksdale Air Force Base.
Nearly 15 percent of Bossier Parish students are from military families. More than 3,000 children are being impacted by what is expected to be the longest government shutdown in history.
The Barksdale Airman’s Attic operates through community donations and volunteer support.
