Voters decided Tuesday, Nov. 4 to approve a $130 million bond measure to fund a career and technical education hub, high school athletic centers and other additions to the Ankeny Community School District.

The measure needed 60% approval in order to pass and 63% of voters supported the bond, according to unofficial results from the Polk County Auditor's office.

The school district's plan for the money includes:

An $80 million "Innovative Hub" for secondary students at the Northview Middle School campus off North Ankeny Boulevard with career, technical and other specialized programming. The Hub's space for 500 to 750 students throughout the school day, starting in the 2028-29 school year, will free up rooms at both of Ankeny's high schools .
