COLUMBUS, Ohio — It is projected that Blendon Township voters approved a 4.48-mill levy Tuesday to continue funding the police department as well as maintain and grow the department's staffing levels.
The levy will cost property owners about an additional $157 annually for every $100,000 of assessed home value, or a total of $403 annually per $100,000 in value.
The most recent police levy passed in 2019. This was the third time the measure has appeared on the ballot.
Chief John Belford said the Blendon Township Police Department currently has 13 officers and is struggling to meet call volumes with two patrol cars per shift.
