SEATTLE — Incumbent Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and challenger Katie Wilson are hoping to win Seattle voters over to become the city's next mayor.
An initial round of election returns Tuesday showed Harrell holding a slight lead with 53.59% to Wilson’s 46.41%. These are preliminary results and are subject to change. The race was too close to call as of Tuesday. KING 5 will update results as they are released.
KING 5's Jim Nelson spoke with Wilson, who is optimistic about the early numbers.
"We're definitely expecting the later ballots to trend in our direction and are hopeful for a good result when everything is counted," she said.
Harrell also sounded optimistic Tuesday night after the initial results dropped.
