PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) - Normal Community boys soccer saw its season come to an end just one win short of a berth in the 3A state Final Four.

The Ironmen fell at home to Naperville North 4-0, with all four goals coming in the second half. It was the best year for the program in over a decade.

"We've shown so much growth over the past month. This is a team we always knew could get here and could do this well. We needed a little luck here and there, we battled injuries and adversities throughout. Huge credit to Naperville North."

Tuesday was also sectional semifinal night for high school volleyball. Winners advancing to the Sweet 16/sectional title matches Thursday include: Normal Community, Washington, Morton, U-High, Peoria Notre Dame, Central Catholic, Heyworth, and Tremont.
