CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Marty Hoeger will keep his seat for Cedar Rapids Council District 1 after winning 61.8% of the vote.

DISTRICT 1

Sam Wilson was the only challenger to incumbent Marty Hoeger. Sam Wilson is an Iowa native and has lived in Cedar Rapids for over a decade.

Since being elected in 2022, Hoeger has served as a member of the Development Committee and Flood Control System Committee.

According to a bio on the city’s website, Hoeger has spent his career working in Real Estate and Development, including time as the City of Cedar Rapids Real Estate Development Coordinator, as the Executive Director for the Neighborhood Development Corporation and as the Business Development Manager for Graham Construction. He currently is the owner of Ogden and Adams.
