MANCHESTER, N.H. —
The moon will be closer to Earth this week than it has at any other time in 2025.
The November full moon, a supermoon known as the Beaver Moon, is expected to reach peak illumination Wednesday around 8:19 a.m.
This is the second supermoon of the year, following the Harvest Moon supermoon in early October.
The term supermoon refers to the moon's especially large appearance in the sky, which is occurring because the moon, which is in its full phase, is closer to Earth in its orbit than its average distance.
