LANSING — Mayor Andy Schor won a third term on Nov. 4, securing almost double the number of votes won by political newcomer Kelsea Hector.

Schor, a former state legislator, was the clear winner at about 11 p.m., with 100% of precincts reporting. Schor won 66% of the votes cast, according to unofficial results from the Ingham County Clerk's Office.

Hector, a housing advocate who had hoped to work on a tenant bill of rights, had 33% of the vote.

Schor is a previous Ingham County commissioner and state representative hoping to build on the momentum of downtown development, which includes a 28-story high-rise that's part of the $315 million New Vision Lansing project . He also hopes to nurture development and improvements in other parts of the city such as south Lansing.
