MANCHESTER - Winnacunnet High School girls soccer coach Nick O'Brien had a simple message to his all-state junior forward Isla Christie at the start of the second overtime of Tuesday's Division I semifinal against Bedford.
Less than 4 minutes later, as Taylor Burness was preparing for a corner kick, O'Brien reminded Christie what he just told her.
The gist of the message was "we need big moments from big players."
Christie, who sat out Winnacunnet's Division I quarterfinal win against Exeter with an ankle injury she suffered early in the first-round win against Dover, took her coach's advice and certainly proved his trust in her.
Burness sent a booming corner kick in front of the Bedford goal, and Christie, coming from the far corner, leaped at the right time and delivered a perfectly
