AUGUSTA, Maine (WABI) - Augusta residents elected new city council and board of education members in Tuesday’s election.

Joshua Lilley and Stephanie-Ann Sienkiewicz won the seats on the Augusta City Council-At Large. Four candidates competed for the two available seats. Michael Michaud won the seat on the Augusta City Council Ward 3. There were two candidates running.

Rita Pello won the race for the seat on the Augusta School Board of Education. There were two candidates. Bobby Jo Bechard won the seat for Augusta Board of Education Ward 4 out of the three candidate running.

Augusta voters also decided to approve a bond of nearly $5.4 million to pay for improvements throughout the capital city.
