ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Five Albuquerque City Council seats are on the ballot Tuesday, and some will be heading to a runoff. Most of those races involved incumbents.
City Council District 1
City Council District 1, which covers much of the westside, north of Central, is the most crowded council race on Tuesday night. This is Louie Sanchez's seat, who ran for mayor instead. Business owner Stephanie Telles leads the pack, but couldn't reach the 50%. She will face engineer Joshua Neal in a runoff.
City Council District 3
Representing Albuquerque's southwest mesa, incumbent Klarissa Peña, who is now the longest continuously serving city councilor, is heading to a runoff election.
