ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. —
Voters in Anderson County showed up to the polls to have their voices heard on a referendum related to a proposed 1% transportation sales tax, or capital project sales tax.
Just under 25,000 votes were cast.
4,927 people voted yes at over 21% of the votes.
18,387 people voted no at just under 79% of the votes.
A similar referendum was previously voted down in the last election.
