MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -Two municipalities are considering building data centers. Janesville and the Village of DeForest held meetings on Tuesday night.
The city of Janesville said they are in the early stages of the process. A data center would cost roughly $8 million.
Meanwhile, members in the Village of DeForest community spoke up during public comment about how they are feeling about the idea of a center although the item was not on the agenda.
The community of Janesville learned new details on the potential construction of a data center.
“I wanted to hear some definites but there were no definites,” Erica Lund, a Janesville resident said.
The city manager gave a presentation and answered questions. Kevin Lahner shared that a data center could save taxpayers money.
