The much-awaited introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains has been postponed after the Ministry of Railways flagged several interior-quality and safety issues.
The first 16-coach Vande Bharat Sleeper Train was initially set to launch in October, but the rollout has now been delayed.
The Railway Board, in its communication with the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) and zonal general managers, has identified several issues.
It has also directed that necessary corrections be made to the current Vande Bharat Sleeper train while also implementing design improvements in all future rakes to prevent similar issues.
