FILLMORE COUNTY, Minn. — Residents in the Fillmore Central Public Schools District area will see an increase of property taxes to support the district's Operating Levy Referendum. The referendum passed 60.68% to 39.32%.
Voters in Fillmore County were considering a significant decision that could impact the local school district's financial future. As of 7:25 p.m., 338 absentee ballots had been unofficially accepted, nearly matching the number sent out. Over 600 people combined voted at each of the polling locations in Harmony and Preston.
Residents decided on School District Question 1, which proposed to increase the general education revenue for Independent School District No. 2198 (Fillmore Central) by $876 per pupil, with an annual inflation adjustment. If approved, the levy would be
