The National Weather Service issued an updated high wind warning at 1:08 a.m. on Wednesday valid from 7 p.m. until Thursday 7 a.m. for Oneida, Otsego and Delaware counties.
"West winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected," states the weather service. "Highest winds will be in the early evening between 7 pm to 10 pm with the frontal passage."
"Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles," explains the weather service. "Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive."
