A landlord has sparked a huge backlash after revealing he would reduce the rent on his property by $50 a week, if prospective tenants were willing to agree to a strict condition.
The three-bedroom property in the Kepnock suburb of Bundaberg, Queensland is available to rent for $620 a week.
However, the landlord admitted he's struggling to find the right candidates and suggested a lower rate if tenants agreed to be responsible for maintenance work on the property.
"Regrettably, I have received a high volume of applications from individuals who do not meet the requirements for this property, and it will remain unoccupied until I find the suitable tenants who can afford the rental payments and properly care for the property," the landlord wrote on a community Facebook page.
