CACHE COUNTY – Unofficial results have been announced in countywide municipal elections held on Nov. 4.
Thirteen of Cache Valley’s 19 municipalities held contested elections for mayoral and city council posts, including Clarkston, Hyde Park, Hyrum, Lewiston, Logan, Millville, Newton, Nibley, North Logan, Providence, Richmond, Smithfield and Wellsville.
In Clarkston, Ryan Thompson defeated Mayor Craig Hidalgo by a two-to-one margin, earning 68 percent of ballots cast in that race compared to 32 percent for the incumbent.
Two and four-years seats on the Clarkston City Council were also up for grabs, with Jared Petersen (42 percent of ballots cast) and Jeff Noble (35 percent) winning four-year seats while Brayden Goodey (37.5 percent) and Danny Godfrey (27 percent) captured two-year seats.
