JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A Jefferson County judge ruled there is enough evidence to send reckless murder charges against 19-year-old Kamden Willis to a grand jury after a July crash that killed two teens and injured several others .

Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Willis was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado on Mount Olive Road around 2:55 a.m. on July 20, 2025, when the truck left the roadway, hit a power pole and then rolled down an embankment.

One person was ejected from the truck.

A deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Accident and Reconstruction Unit arrived about an hour after the wreck. A detective testified that deputies found heavy debris, a downed power pole and multiple tire marks leading to an embankment
