Democrat Chad Ryan led the Onondaga County Legislature’s 8th district Tuesday with 76% of the vote, according to unofficial election results from the Onondaga County Board of Elections.

Ryan had 3,105 votes over incumbent Republican Shawn Fiato, who had 990 votes.

The 8th district includes the Inner Harbor area, part of the town of Geddes and the city’s West Side.

County legislators work part-time and are paid $38,748 annually. Ryan manages his family’s funeral home. Fiato is retired.

Ryan, 40, is a former Common Councilor who lives in Tipperary Hill. He is the son of Ed Ryan , who held that seat on the county legislature for 32 years before becoming an elections commissioner.
