PORTLAND -- Just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, the Associated Press and Bangor Daily News confirmed that Question 1 did not pass, and election laws in the state of Maine will remain unchanged.

Question 1 asked voters whether or not they'd like to change certain laws with our state elections. Including requiring voters to present a photo ID to cast a ballot or submit an absentee ballot, taking away two days of absentee voting, and limiting drop boxes in municipalities to only one per.
