Maine Election 2025 Voters Say No to Voter ID, Yes to the Red Flag Law
Two referendum questions appeared on the ballot Tuesday, resulting in races with overwhelming results.
Question 1 proposed requiring Maine voters to show a photo identification when they vote, and would have put restrictions on absentee voting.
According to the Portland Press Herald , voters rejected the question:
No votes........256, 236......63.9%
Yes votes.......144, 925......36.1%
Question 2 proposed instituting a Red Flag Law, that would allow law enforcement to temporarily remove firearms from people in crisis.
