MOJAVE, CA — A local trailer park has come under fire, with visitors and prospective residents alike accusing its name "Paradise Oasis" of being at least somewhat of a noticeable exaggeration.
"I'm thinking this is a bit shy of ‘paradise,'" said Ben Clinton. "I mean, there are a few amenities…running water…no rabid dogs running around like other trailer parks…but ‘paradise?' I think that's a bit of a stretch."
The owners of the park said they chose the name to evoke a luxurious living experience. "We want our tenants to feel like they are really living the good life here," explained Graham Walker, the park's general manager. "Pulling up in between a couple of trailers filled with colorful characters, basking in the glow of barrels full of burning garbage, and falling asleep being serenad
